As a trained English Master trainer, my lessons are built around creating interactivity with learners, continuous engagement and student-led sessions. I have been a practitioner of the Teaching-Learning Cycle technique where teaching/ learning is designed in 6-lesson blocks that gradually take learners from being a novice about a task in the first session to being an expert by the last session.

I work best with older learners who are preparing for standardized exams as I'm able to break down exam answering techniques and strategies into easy-to-remember techniques student can replicate or apply in the exam. Driven and highly-motivated learners work best with me as we can create sustained collaboration in their learning of the language.

While I work best with older learners, I'm happy to work with younger student aged 12 and below. I have experience teaching Year 7 to Year 10 students and I am comfortable with through English Language Art lessons that have a focus on learning through Art, Play and Creativity. Part of my training in Malaysia has also enabled me to design lessons which used flipped learning approach, project-based learning and collaborative online learning.

I can design suitable task guides and appropriately structured instructions to ensure students can produce high-quality materials that are evidence of their learning. While I have many year experience as an educator, my role as Student Representative and Samaritan listening volunteer has trained in coaching for adults and young people, making me a suitable candidate to provide necessary emotional support to them.
