My lessons are structured but relaxed. I want students to feel comfortable enough to say when something is not making sense, because that is exactly where the real progress happens.
Every new student starts with a short diagnostic phase. Before diving into content, I spend time figuring out where the gaps actually are, rather than working through material a student already understands. From there, lessons are built around those specific weak areas, so time is never wasted revisiting things that are already solid.
Once the foundations are in place, I shift the focus to exam questions. This is where I see students make the biggest leaps, learning how to structure answers, pick up method marks, and approach questions confidently under timed conditions. I use past papers and practice questions throughout, so students become familiar and comfortable with the style and demands of their actual exams.
I have been tutoring since 2023 and currently study Dentistry at university, giving me a thorough grounding in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths at A-level and beyond. I achieved A* in Biology, A in Chemistry, and A in Maths, so I know these subjects well and understand what examiners are looking for. I also understand the pressure of high-stakes exams and genuinely care about helping students reach the results they are working towards.
Lessons are typically one hour and paced to suit the individual. Some students need more time on explanation, while others learn best by working through questions directly. I adapt as we go to make sure every session is as productive as possible.
