With over 20 years of experience as a qualified pharmacist and a postgraduate Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice, I bring extensive scientific knowledge and real-world clinical experience to my teaching. Throughout my career, I have regularly taught and mentored nursing staff, junior doctors, and trainee pharmacists in physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and clinical reasoning, helping them develop both confidence and a deeper understanding of complex biological concepts.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, learning style, and academic goals, whether they are studying biology at school, preparing for GCSE or A-level examinations, or looking to strengthen their understanding at a higher level. I explain challenging topics in a clear, engaging, and relatable way, using diagrams, real-life clinical examples, and interactive discussions to make learning memorable and enjoyable.
I believe that understanding biology is far more valuable than simply memorising facts. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence in applying their knowledge. For exam-focused students, I also incorporate practice questions, exam techniques, and revision strategies to maximise performance.
My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where every student feels comfortable learning at their own pace. By combining academic knowledge with over two decades of clinical experience, I help students develop a strong foundation in biology while showing how the subject applies to real life and healthcare.
I also believe in order to enjoy and thrive in a subject you need to enjoy it. This creates the sponge to scoop up knowledge and retain it. Not to mention the learning experience!
