Every lesson is tailored to the individual student and their goals. Whether you are aiming to pass your A-Level exams, improve your confidence in the subject or achieve the highest grades, I adapt my teaching style to suit your current level of understanding and preferred way of learning. My aim is not simply to help students memorise the law, but to ensure they genuinely understand legal principles and can apply them effectively in exam questions.
Lessons are available online or in person around Southampton and are typically one-to-one, allowing students to ask questions freely and progress at their own pace. A typical lesson begins by identifying any topics the student finds difficult before working through the relevant legal principles using clear explanations and practical examples. We then apply this knowledge to exam-style questions, focusing on structure, legal analysis and the skills required to maximise marks. Where appropriate, I also set optional work between lessons and provide detailed feedback on essays and practice questions.
I achieved an A in A-Level Law and currently study Law (LLB) at the University of Southampton, where I maintain a high 2:1 average. Alongside my legal studies, I have four years' experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Maths and one year's experience tutoring A-Level Law. These experiences have helped me develop the ability to explain complex concepts in a straightforward and accessible way while adapting my teaching to suit different students.
I believe that students make the most progress when lessons are relaxed, supportive and interactive. I encourage questions throughout every session and focus on building confidence as well as knowledge. As I am still completing my degree, I keep my rates below the average for private tutors and offer the first one-hour lesson free, allowing students and parents to decide whether my teaching style is the right fit before making any commitment.
