I tutor the Spanish language due to my lifelong enthusiasm for it. I learnt it in the United States, both from my high school and from my Mexican step-grandfather, the latter of whom was a profound influence in my life. He taught me my first words and phrases in Spanish when I was little, and he also taught me traditional Mexican rancheras (cowboy songs).

Prior to online tutoring, I have also taught Maths in secondary school and trained agents in a call centre. My experiences of teaching and training have shown me that patience and adaptation to one's audience are crucial to the delivery of any lesson, regardless of the topic.

As a tutor, my lessons will centre round your specific learning needs. Whether you need a little brushing up on verb conjugations or a stronger overall foundation in the Spanish language, I will meet you at your level and work with you there. There will be quite a lot of Spanish-only conversation, as appropriate at your specific level, because I have found that the key to fluency in any language is immersion in the world of said language.

Prior to beginning an actual tutoring session, I will need to assess your level of fluency in Spanish. This means that our first session will involve me conversing with you in Spanish so I can map out where your specific strengths and areas for development in the language are. From there you and I will be able to foster a productive, enjoyable teaching and learning relationship.
