Grace Chalhoub

I hold a master's degree in geography from the University of Oxford and an undergraduate degree with highest honours in English and Anthropology from the University of Georgia, which included an academic year of studying English at Oxford. I offer online tutoring in essay composition for school and university admissions, English literature, geography, and cultural studies, as well as preparation for the SAT and ACT (US university entrance exams).

I have experience in tutoring academic writing (both advanced and basic), English literature, and Shakespearean studies. I have also previously worked for the educational website SuperSummary as a literature study guide writer, providing in-depth literary analysis of a variety of literary works. I love watching students grow as writers and learners, and seek to help students at all levels write with clarity and confidence.

My online lessons provide one-on-one guidance in essay composition and/or lessons in English literature, geography, and cultural studies. I provide step-by-step lessons adapted to the student's individual learning style, goals, and needs. This could include help with writing an outline, understanding the research process, structuring the argument or narrative of an essay, or honing the writing for comprehension and clarity.

As an English literature tutor in the past, I loved putting together presentations to teach students about literary concepts, genres, and movements, and will happily provide students with in-depth presentations on topics in my areas of expertise!

In addition to my teaching experience, I received a perfect score of 36 in Reading and a near-perfect score of 35 in English on the ACT exam, and am happy to help any students daunted by the US university entrance exams, which differ substantially from UK exams, in perfecting their Reading and English performance.
