My lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I like to begin by understanding the student’s current level, strengths and areas they find challenging, then build each lesson around clear, achievable goals.
I use a mixture of explanation, worked examples, practice questions and active discussion to keep lessons engaging rather than simply talking through content. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking, as I find this is one of the best ways to identify gaps in understanding and build confidence.
As a dentist, I have extensive experience studying and applying scientific subjects, as well as supporting others through challenging academic content. I understand how overwhelming exams and difficult topics can feel, so I aim to make lessons approachable while still being focused and productive.
Depending on the student’s goals, lessons can include learning new content, revisiting difficult topics, exam technique, practice questions and revision planning. I also adapt my teaching style as we go, so that students receive the type of support that works best for them.
My overall aim is for students to leave each lesson feeling more confident, understanding the topic more clearly and knowing exactly what they need to work on next.
