Grace Allen

I am a qualified and highly experienced English language tutor living in Todmorden, with over 25 years experience. I have taught English to both native speakers and ESOL students in the UK and abroad. I currently teach English in an FE college in Halifax and have been there for the past 14 years.

I teach learners of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced, and prepare students for accredited exams such as: GCSE English, Functional Skills English and a variety of award based ESOL exams. I have extensive experience supporting students with SEND and have successfully implemented effective strategies during class to support.

My teaching style is relaxed, organised, and personalised. I plan every lesson to suit the student's needs using a wide range of resources including: power Points, interactive apps, audios, and texts. I aim to make learning engaging and enjoyable. We will work to your pace. Students often describe my lessons as fun, productive, and confidence-building.

I believe in helping learners overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their goals at their own pace. I encourage my students to complete set HW tasks, which will be based on areas to improve, for the following lesson.

I offer both online and face-to-face lessons (depending on location) and I am committed to making your English learning journey enjoyable and effective.
