I hold dual Master’s degrees in Diplomacy from Taiwan University and Geopolitics from King’s College London, and I bring both academic depth and practical teaching experience to my Chinese language instruction. I previously worked as an elementary school teacher in Taiwan, where I developed strong teaching skills and a deep appreciation for student-centred learning. In addition, I have spent three years tutoring non-native Chinese speakers, helping learners from diverse backgrounds build confidence and fluency in Mandarin.
My teaching approach is rooted in immersion. I believe that language is best learned when students feel surrounded by it in a natural and engaging way. To achieve this, I design lessons that incorporate simple stories, short videos, and real-life scenarios, allowing students to experience Chinese as it is used in daily life. Before planning any course, I take time to understand each student’s interests, goals, and learning style. Whether a student needs Chinese for school, work, or personal enrichment, I tailor my lessons to ensure the content feels relevant, motivating, and enjoyable.
I especially enjoy working with learners who are curious about Chinese language and culture. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel immersed in Mandarin, encouraged to express themselves, and excited to explore the cultural context behind the language. With patience, structure, and creativity, I help students progress steadily while discovering the joy of learning Chinese. For me, building a strong and positive connection with my students is essential. I listen carefully, observe attentively, and take time to understand each learner’s needs. Throughout the lesson, I make real-time adjustments based on their progress, energy, and level of engagement. My goal is for every student to feel that their time in class is both highly productive and personally uplifting. I want them to leave each lesson not only with new knowledge, but also with a sense of confidence, motivation, and renewed energy.
