My teaching approach is to explain to you not only a specific method, but the thinking behind it and why it is useful. I believe in removing the mystery behind art and showing how approachable it can be. In my lessons I would show you what I believe are the foundations for drawing, and art-making. These are technical skills and conceptual ideas that serve as the building blocks from which you can develop. I listen to your motivation and your goals to give you the tools you need to make the art you want to make. I have been taught in a broad range of methods, from academic drawing to expressive painting to found object sculpture. In my teaching, I tailor my lessons, exercises and conversations to be fully relevant and helpful in supporting you and your individual artistic goals. The mediums I work in and can instruct in include but are not limited to: graphite, charcoal and ink drawing, acrylic and oil painting, printmaking, clay and wax sculpture, found object sculpture, video and more. I have previous experience teaching at in person classes and have a DBS check, and safeguarding qualification. I also have previous experience working as an art handler and as a sculpture fabricator for a successful artist Studio, so am able to advise on the art world more broadly if you are curious/it is helpful for your goals. I teach both online or in person in London (location dependent). If you are at all curious, or would like to see some of my own personal work, don't hesitate to drop me a line :)
