My lessons are designed to feel practical, engaging, and genuinely useful beyond just passing exams. I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions—whether that’s about sociology concepts or real-life challenges they’re facing as they transition into adulthood.

For A-Level sociology, my sessions are structured but flexible. We typically start by breaking down key theories and topics in a clear, accessible way, using real-world examples to make ideas easier to understand and remember. I focus on helping students move beyond memorisation, encouraging them to think critically, evaluate arguments, and apply sociological perspectives to everyday life. We also work on exam technique, including how to structure high-scoring essays and interpret questions effectively.

Alongside academic support, I offer “life skills” guidance woven naturally into lessons or as dedicated sessions. This might include advice on managing independence, navigating work environments, building confidence, or making sense of the transition from education into the real world. Students are encouraged to bring their own questions, so sessions can be shaped around what they genuinely need help with.

My teaching style is interactive rather than lecture-based. I like to use discussions, scenarios, and problem-solving tasks to keep lessons dynamic and engaging. Having experience in leadership roles and customer-facing environments, I bring a practical understanding of workplace expectations and communication, which I integrate into my teaching.

Overall, my goal is to help students not only achieve strong academic results, but also feel more prepared, confident, and capable in life beyond the classroom.
