Hello, I’m Gen. I teach Japanese to learners who want to enjoy studying Japanese while developing practical Japanese skills they can actually use.

I completed a 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course and have taught Japanese to learners from many different countries. I teach students from beginner to upper-intermediate levels. I also offer JLPT preparation from N5 to N2, including grammar, vocabulary, reading, and listening.

My lessons are not just about listening to a teacher’s explanations. I place a strong emphasis on speaking and using Japanese yourself. A typical lesson follows this flow: review ? introduction of new material ? practice ? speaking and output ? feedback.

During conversation practice, we use realistic situations that you may encounter in everyday life. When you make a mistake, I do more than simply give you the correct answer. I explain why a particular expression is used and help you reformulate your sentence into more natural Japanese. You then use the corrected expression again so that your knowledge becomes practical Japanese that you can actually use.

I use PowerPoint and other learning materials to make grammar, vocabulary, kanji, and conversation easier to understand visually. Depending on your level and goals, we can use materials such as Minna no Nihongo, Irodori, and Shin Kanzen Master.

My lessons are especially suitable for learners who understand Japanese grammar but have difficulty speaking, or who want to sound more natural when communicating in Japanese.
