The objective of my lessons is to create an environment that is relaxed, engaging and effective. Students must be made aware thaf language learning is a journey and not a destination. So they dont need to panic and believe they will be highly proficient at the end of every lesson. The format will be different lesson structures that focuses on real life situation that will allow the students to express themselves. I also believe that it is beneficial to get the learners to suggest topics so that they can interact and be effective. If it’s a group lesson, working in pairs and /or teams gets shy learners to participate. To ensure learners are 100% focused throughout the lessons, short quizes and role playing is key.
I'm currently teaching English to 3 foreigners face-to-face and it has been delightful. My students enjoy short stories with quizes and role playing. In every lesson focus on 4 language skills is the key to getting students enjoy learning. My aim is to also get exposure teaching online which is ideal as I live in Cape Town, South Africa.
