I have an Honours Law degree and went on to become a specialised police detective with a wealth of experience in dealing with serious crimes.

I always refer to legislation and I break it down using images to ensure full comprehension. i then cement the learning by using real life police scenarios which greatly helps students put the theory into context. This goes a long way to helping students remember the material by picturing the scene or scenario.

My teaching style is very relaxed but structured. I am also autistic so I am meticulous in my approach to lessons. I am very passionate about criminal law as it is my love in life.

I will also share with students why various pieces of legislation were created as this helps to learn material when you understand the 'why' and not just the 'what'.

I fondly remember the best tutors and lecturers at my University as being enthusiastic, passionate about the subject. I am both of these things and as a result I excelled in my role as a police officer because the legislation made perfect sense to me so I was also able to anticipate potential defences which ensured cases were completed thoroughly and right first time round.
