My lessons are practical, engaging, and focused on real-world design skills. My lessons are practical, engaging, and focused on real-world design skills. I structure each session to be clear and easy to follow, usually starting with a short introduction to a key concept—such as layout, typography, or visual hierarchy—using examples of effective and ineffective design. This helps students understand not just how to design, but why certain approaches work.
I then move into a live demonstration, where I walk through a design process step by step using industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Suite or accessible platforms such as Canva. Students can ask questions throughout, keeping the session interactive and responsive.
A large part of each lesson is hands-on. Students are set a practical task, often based on real-world briefs such as creating a social media post, poster, or simple brand asset. This allows them to apply what they’ve learned immediately and build confidence through doing.
I place strong emphasis on supportive, constructive feedback. Each session includes time to review work, highlight strengths, and offer clear, actionable suggestions for improvement.
With professional experience across print, digital, and social design, I bring real industry insight into every lesson. My aim is to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students of all levels feel comfortable, develop their creativity, and gain skills they can use in real situations.
I am bilingual and can teach in English and Welsh.
