Gareth Morgan

I have worked in 10 countries over the last 30 years, as an English language lecturer, teacher, trainer and researcher, recently completing a job at Shanghai University where I taught undergraduates and postgraduates. Out of a teaching staff of over 100, I was awarded the second highest grading of 6, with only 5 colleagues achieving the highest ranking.

In lessons, I teach learners to overcome the problems they have, so have researched and produced guides on both the pronunciation and grammatical issues based on the mother tongue. I have also had papers published on teaching methodology, grammar, and pronunciation. Moreover, I have been an examiner for IELTS speaking and writing, and the entire Cambridge suite of exams from PET to CPE, and the 3 Business English Certificate (BEC) levels.

I have also lectured at the National University of Singapore, Prince Sultan University, Dammam University, and Liverpool University. Regarding Summer Schools, the places I have worked at include Oxford University for 3 summers, and Birmingham University.

On top of teaching, I have worked as a Senior Teacher, Line Manager, Mentor, and Director of Studies. For example, at the National University of Singapore, I taught lecturers how to improve their teaching and their English language skills. This was as part of my MA for which I received a Distinction.

I have also written courses, such as Know it Teach it: Grammar for the Singapore Ministry of Education to teach teachers thus skill.
