Tutoring subject- GCSE biology (did AQA but comfortable tutoring any specification)
My grade- 8
Did alevel biology, now studying biological sciences at university.

I am a university student so I am not free all the time, however I am usually available after school hours and at weekends (subject to possible change). I have listed the cost of tutoring at £22 per hour but I am open to discussion about my rate and lowering my prices if need be. My main aim is to help students and that is what I am trying to do.

Firstly, lessons will be tailored to what students need. If they would prefer to do a past paper together or have me explain something, then the lesson plan will change to suit them.

I find this to be more helpful because it encourages hands on learning and engages students to develop a deeper understanding of confusing concepts.

However, the basic lesson structure would be: catch up (talk with the student about topics they are finding challenging), explanation of topic, practice questions (then correcting any mistakes), debrief about whether the session was helpful and whether they understand the topic better now, then what they can do at home/ school and what revision resources they should use to understand the topic when they aren’t with me.

Finally, they should leave the session with clarity and comprehension rather than confusion. I can help point students in the direction of resources and revision material that can help them even further with their studies.
