I have a year of in-person experience as a tutor, and am moving towards online lessons. The first of these will be for free as a taster session for me to get to know a prospective student. Lessons can then be purchased at a lower price in bulk, or single lessons at full price.
I have 10 grade 9 GCSEs and have just finished studying my A Levels. I have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the AQA specifications, and have aided both struggling and high-achieving students to reach higher grades in my previous experience.
I am looking to teach GCSE AQA English Literature (A Christmas Carol, Macbeth and An Inspector Calls and poetry), English Language and History (Conflict and Tension, America Power and the people, and Elizabethan England). My lessons will be tailored to student need and demand, with an evaluation of gaps in learning and progress in our first meeting. After this evaluation, I will plan lessons accordingly. There will be a focus on exam practice, essay writing skills and analysis.
Lessons will be highly interactive. In my experience, understanding the students’ own difficulties and tailoring interactive lessons to their needs is the most beneficial way to see an increase in grades.
I will also provide advice for practice at home alone, and revision strategies for GCSE exams based on the subjects I am teaching.
I am passionate about helping students and the subjects I teach. Whilst I may not be a qualified teacher, I am academically intelligent and have plenty of experience both working with children and tutoring.
