I always like to focus on what the student enjoys about the subject, what they excel in and what they find most interesting - as opposed to fixating on the more difficult areas that the student may struggle with. If I can gather an understanding of how they may exceed in one area, we collectively can use this to make the trickier parts a little bit easier - even if it’s applying the same techniques but in a different way, or simply reorganising a sentence to make it read easier. I find having a relaxed connection with a tutor is far less daunting, and allows for easier teaching on both sides of the screen. I’m somebody who understands academic struggles entirely, and so making things a little easier for a student is always my end goal. The sessions are tailored entirely to the individual, whether this is verbal, visible or written learning, I’m more than happy to adapt to anyone’s preferences in hopes of achieving targets. Having studied both GCSE and A-Level English Literature (and having briefly struggled myself), I understand and have learnt various techniques that made my learning journey far easier, and so I’d love to pass on these lessons to others. The main idea being - I get it!! Stress is never fun, especially within the academic world and so I’d enjoy nothing more than to help students ease themselves into a level of stress-free understanding. I cater to everybody as an individual, not just as a student!!
