Frederic Tschepp

I’m Fred Tschepp, an experienced freelance editor and motion designer with extensive experience leading workshops for young children, young adults, and mature learners. Alongside my freelance career working my way slowly up the ladder of corporate clients across branded content, explainers and data visualisation pieces, product launches, and lots of social video content, I have also greatly enjoyed leading evening and daytime week courses with the British Film Institute, Iconic Steps, and The Prince’s Trust. Beginning at the BFI when I was 22 years old, a few months after graduating from my second film degree, an MA in Cult Film and Television Studies. I was soon trusted to write a new programme for a series of adult evening classes. I continued to lead the video editing course and stop motion course for the following three years.


began working with Iconic Steps, an organisation based out of Brixton that focused on providing subsidised film education for under-privileged young people. These were week-long courses in documentary, short film, and music video production and when Iconic Steps began to partner with The Prince’s Trust I was a preferred candidate to lead the “Get Started” courses that ran on a similar model. One of the first of these was a short film course where my group wanted to make an abstract drama about chasing your dream. This called on a lot of the DIY techniques I had learned in making my own short films and the resulting film was very highly commended by stakeholders and used as a benchmark of quality for course films and elevating the ambition in subsequent courses.

I have been creating with After Effects and much of the rest of the Adobe suite for about 16 years now and am familiar with Cinema 4D and Blender for 3D work as well as TV Paint for tradigital animation. My editing and animation skillset has been honed working in fast turnaround environments at BBC Studios for Top Gear and BBC Earth, and That Lot London for eBay, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, HSBC, and Microsoft. Outside of corporate clients I am currently expanding my client base in music visualisation projects and passionately enjoy the entire process of music video creation as well as shorter animated banners, lyric videos and visualisers.
