About me

I have a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Art and illustration and work experience facilitating art based workshops within charity whose aims were to support people’s mental health and overall wellbeing, in a community setting. From this work I apply a person centred approach, working in this way allows us to establish your goals and to ensure you get the most from within the session.

Together we’d assess whether I’d be the right fit for you and design a strategy with you in mind, building on necessary skills to support your progression. I am a Neurodivergent inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly tutor and aim to create a welcoming and safe space for optimal learning.

We’d start by having a consultation to identify what you’d like to work on within the sessions, and follow a pre determined plan. We’d work collaboratively through demonstrations, and practical exercises, where you’ll get the opportunity to ask questions to further your learning. We’d reserve 10 minutes of the session to discuss your progress, experiences, and review your progress with the option to continue the learning via homework to review within the following session.

I have experience conducting sessions within a variety of art based styles from expressive to traditional by utilising a range of different mediums.

Together we could explore:

- Drawing (technical, expressive, experimental work focusing on still life, abstract art, landscape or portrait. Building knowledge around perspective, rendering, line drawing, mark making, shading, sketching)
- Painting (watercolour/acrylic from learning basic techniques to colour theory and composition)
- Mixed Media - Collaging (found materials, craft materials)
- Embroidery (from learning a variety of stitch techniques and how to apply them).
- Hand building (using air dried clay)
- Crafts

Whatever your Art, Design or Craft ambition, feel free to get in contact.
