I have studied under tutors before, and what has always set them apart from normal teaching for me is how tailored they are to my personal learning goals, as well as how much better I learn in a more relaxed environment. I look to carry that through into my own tutoring. We'll discuss what you aim to get out of our sessions, then I'll plan them accordingly.

Our initial session will be getting to know each other and discovering the goal of our sessions together. We can focus on improving general conversational fluency or on really getting to grips with the trickier grammar points. We can also discuss how you learn best, so I can design a more structured lesson that might include visual aids and specific talking points or questions, or we can go with the flow of the conversation and note any points for improvement along the way.

I have experience in tutoring both total beginners looking to learn some vocabulary before a holiday abroad, and advanced speakers looking for a conversation buddy to get in some extra practice with. I have also studied Spanish and Italian all the way from GCSE through to university level, so I understand how the exams are designed and how to support students currently learning languages at school. I can also offer insights into working with languages, as I am also currently working as a freelance translator.
