I prefer to teach in a personal style, with lessons adapted and dedicated to suit your needs. The lessons will contain any content you feel you need help with, as well as support with topics you may be interested in learning personally.
If a lecture-style is preferred with time for questions at the end, that is completely acceptable; likewise, a more guided approach is absolutely fine. I will set tasks to help me gauge your understanding, as well as small homework tasks if I feel this is appropriate. I am also happy to engage in more practical tasks using my own equipment and experience.
I have worked in a variety of NHS settings with a wide range of healthcare professionals, understanding fundamentals of both science, and teaching. I have also volunteered in Tanzania, teaching children aging from 5-13 about health and science. This experience has assisted me in the understanding of a range of educational dynamics, both classroom based and more practical. I have tutored English literature, chemistry, biology and psychology at a GCSE level, and seen positive outcomes from all of my students. I enjoy a relaxed, positive dynamic to my teaching, as long as it remains focused and on task.
I am happy to work with a variety of exam boards, and will use resources both online and from textbooks, as well as anything else requested by a student. Sessions can be as frequent as required, and please do not hesitate to ask if you require a different approach.
