I am a patient, supportive, and adaptable tutor who enjoys working with primary school–aged children and lower secondary school students. I aim to create a calm, encouraging learning environment where students feel confident, motivated, and supported to reach their full potential.
I am able to support all subjects at primary level and a broad range of subjects at lower secondary level. My lessons are carefully structured but flexible, ensuring that each session is tailored to the individual child’s needs, learning style, and academic goals. I take time to assess each student’s strengths, areas for development, and preferred ways of learning before creating a personalised lesson plan.
For each student, I adapt my teaching methods by using a mix of visual aids, practical activities, discussion, repetition, and age-appropriate practice tasks. Lessons are broken down into manageable steps to support understanding before progressing further. I regularly review progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly, providing clear explanations and plenty of opportunities for questions.
I am confident working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and understand the importance of adapting lessons to suit each learner. I provide a supportive, structured, and flexible approach, using differentiated tasks, clear instructions, and appropriate pacing to meet individual needs. Where required, I use alternative teaching strategies, additional scaffolding, and positive reinforcement to help students remain engaged and build confidence.
I have a strong academic background, including the following qualifications:
GCSEs:
• English Language – Grade 8
• English Literature – Grade 6
• History – Grade 7
• Mathematics – Grade 6
• Religious Studies – Grade 8
• Physics – Grade 5
• Biology – Grade 5
• Chemistry – Grade 5
• ICT – Distinction*
A Levels / Level 3 Qualifications:
• Applied Science – Distinction*
• Public Services – Distinction*
• Criminology – Grade B
I am currently in my second year of a Forensic Science degree at the University of Lincoln, where I continue to develop strong analytical skills, scientific knowledge, and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning. I believe learning should be engaging and accessible, and I work closely with students (and parents where appropriate) to ensure lessons are effective, enjoyable, and tailored to individual learning objectives.
