I find that every student is different and as such, tailor my teaching style and work plan. This can involve working through curriculums or prepare lessons for specific topics or areas of interest or concern. I enjoy tutoring in a relaxed and informal environment where questions and discussion are encouraged as I feel this is the best way to learn and retain information. A typical session would include discussion of the current understanding of a topic, followed by an explanation of areas where there is misunderstanding, discussion of how exam questions could be answered. Once there is a good understanding of a topic, I find it valuable to then considered how the concepts behind this topic can be applied to other topics.
I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level biology. I also have extensive scientific writing expertise gained during my MSc and PhD, something which I struggled with due to my dyslexia. I am excited to share the methods I discovered and developed during this to help others succeed.
