Be it for education, career or when travelling abroad, English is an indispensable tool. Learning English should be an approachable and enjoyable experience, which is the environment I aim to create while teaching lessons to my students.
I have three years of experience teaching through a camera and I am highly proficient in computers. Furthermore, I achieved a First Class Honors Degree in Dublin City University and therefore have a deep knowledge of English literature. I have implemented this knowledge in my teaching and hope to continue to do this with your company.
I am capable of delivering highly individualised learning experiences. This is a necessary part of
teaching as all students have varying capabilities. To this end, I have experience dealing with
students with an almost fluent standard of English to students with an extremely rudimentary level.
Ensuring all of these students’ needs were met required me to be extremely resourceful and
organised. Furthermore, I have experience teaching students from across the UK, Ireland, France, the UAE and China in an online capacity. My experience in grading students is significant. Not only have I spent the past year correcting physical tests completed by students, but I have also monitored students’ progress in the Ellendel School of Speech & Drama for the past three years, paying close attention to pronunciation and phonic sounds. Furthermore, I am extremely punctual and possess a strong work ethic.
I am a patient, encouraging and kind tutor. It is important to me that a student enjoys our lessons
and feels comfortable during them. I aim to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment
for children through positive encouragement and reinforcement. My teaching ethos aims to equip
students with the necessary language skills for today's modern, globalised world. All my lessons are
student-focused, emphasising getting the student to speak as much as possible.
I implement the three D’s in my teaching style: Direct, Discuss and Delegate.
Direct – explain the purpose and learning outcomes of the lesson and explain the new content
Discuss – Ask questions of the students, encourage them to speak and get involved
Delegate – Assign tasks for the students to work on independently which allows them to implement
the work covered in the lesson.
