Academic Bio
Fiona is experienced in design who has contributed to architectural education and research / several institutions within the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
- Work spans studio critique, project development, and environmental research, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary design.
Fiona holds a Diploma in Architecture from The Bartlett School of the Built Environment, University College London (1995), and a BA (Hons) in Architecture from The Victoria University of Manchester (1991). This academic foundation combines rigorous architectural training with a critical engagement in urban design and environmental thinking.
(In 2006; Trial and post-trail research at the University at Buffalo, contributing to investigations that bridged planning theory and real-world application)
From Autumn 2005 through Spring 2006, Fiona served as a guest critic for upper-level undergraduate and graduate design studios at the University at Buffalo’s Department of Architecture and Planning. The role included participation in Graduate Interim Reviews, Undergraduate Studio Reviews, and Interactive Studio critiques. Academic involvement also extended to Purchase College, SUNY, where Fiona served as a visiting critic in Spring 2005, offering detailed feedback in interactive design studio settings.
Through these roles, Fiona has contributed meaningfully to the academic discourse in architecture and design, emphasising thoughtful critique, interdisciplinary thinking, and environmentally informed practice.
