Hello everyone!
Here are a few pieces of information about myself and my experience in the field of legal study. I currently a student at university, studying for a law degree after achieving A-levels in criminology and law, for which I received an A*. I am an aspiring barrister who loves to learn and teach law.
As a tutor I have two aims for my sessions, firstly I aim to help my students achieve their goals and the best grades possible. Secondly as a tutor (and student myself) I understand the importance of understanding each students needs and how to accomplish as much as possible in each session by tailoring them to each student.
While each students session will differ slightly for this reason, my sessions will follow the study pattern of beginning the session by assessing the students short and long term retention of the subject, followed by queries from the student regarding any additional help in areas they feel they have not yet mastered. Both of these practices will be applied during the next step of the session to fill in any gaps in their knowledge and boost their confidence and understanding of the subject. Once this step of the session has been completed, we will continue on to covering a section of the subject which we have not yet covered in our previous sessions in order to further their learning, which is an excellent opportunity to further their learning and boost their understanding in school classes and exams.
The final portion of the session will be a recap on the topics covered in the session to help me understand the topics the student is excelling in and which topics to discuss again in our next session. After this I will ask the student to discuss any topics from our sessions or their school learning they feel less confident in to ensure every base is covered in order to achieve the highest level of learning.
