Hi, my names Fatima Baba
I have extensive experience teaching mathematics and science to groups of young people. Having excelled in SATs mathematics myself, I understand the knowledge, skills and techniques pupils need to succeed. I believe I can explain challenging concepts clearly and adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles.
During lessons, I use a range of online resources, visual examples and interactive activities to keep pupils engaged. For regular students, I begin sessions with active recall activities to check their understanding of previous lessons and identify any areas that need further support. I also encourage students to ask questions, as this helps build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
Another method I find particularly useful is "blurting," where students write down or verbally recall key knowledge, formulas and mathematical methods from memory. When combined with past-paper questions, this strengthens long-term memory and helps pupils apply their knowledge accurately in exam-style situations.
My goal is to ensure that every student feels confident about how to approach a difficult question. Rather than focusing solely on memorising methods, I help pupils develop problem-solving and reasoning skills, enabling them to access more challenging questions while building a genuine understanding and enjoyment of mathematics.
To help families decide whether my teaching style is the right fit, I offer an introductory 30-minute consultation and assessment for just £7. This session allows us to discuss the student's current ability, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate my teaching approach before committing to regular lessons.
