For example translating a favourite poem or phrase.
Confidence building experiences, along with take away practical home work for social settings.
Understanding the difference between everyday spoken english (slang) being used with friends etc.
A breakdown in pronunciation for familiarising with words and phrases.
The take aways will encourage students to challenge them selves at any given circumstance.
Strong understanding of identity and dilects will help form their true self in delivery of the english language.
All students will be encouraged to make use of the oxford english dictionary 1st edition along with a thesaurus and encouraged to find synonyms.
This will also be encouraged as a "step up your english" challenge.
The structure here is to establish a base, a foundation, whilst keeping things casual in the beginning.
The students will then be introduced to poetic texts explaining emotion words and phrases.
This will lead to a fun and breaking the ice activity which will help reveal the students true side and build confidence. We will also communicate back and forth with any questions and explanations along the way.
The practical exercises and activities have been chosen to feel fun rather than actual home work.
This will encourage students to persue rather than endure.
The challenges will include students to introduce themselves to two/three strangers per week whilst holding a conversion.
The students will also learn basic body language and changes in attitudes. The support in individual needs will also be taken into consideration, whilst moving as a group class activity.
