My lessons are available both online and in-person so we can find whatever works best for you and your child.
Before we begin lessons, I take the time to understand your child's learning style, what they find challenging, and what their teacher has been covering in class. This means every session feels relevant and purposeful (not one-size-fits-all). I keep things simple and focused so that there's no overwhelming amounts of information at once.
Sessions will typically include a short recap of previous learning, a focused teaching segment, and plenty of practice using worksheets, visual aids and real examples drawn from the curriculum. I check understanding throughout so that nothing gets left unclear.
I have informal experience supporting younger family members through primary school English and Maths which gave me a strong sense of how young learners think and where they tend to get stuck. Combined with years of professional experience explaining complex information clearly and patiently to a wide range of people, I bring a calm and encouraging presence to every session.
I'm patient by nature and believe that no question is a silly one. My approach is to meet students where they are, build their confidence gradually, and celebrate small wins along the way. Children learn best when they feel safe to get things wrong and I make sure every lessons feels like that kind of space. At the end of each session, I can share a brief update with parents so that you're updated on the progress, know what's been covered and what to focus on next.
