I am a seasoned tutor with over twenty years of tutoring experience at university level and nine years of teaching GCSE A Level Composition. Additionally, I have been a tutor for TOEFL and IELTS in which latter case I was also a trainer for four years. Teaching is both my passion and chosen avocation. The challenge of helping my students achieve their learning goals is what drives me. I am confident that I can help you with your assignments, dissertations, research papers, college and other essays, resumes and cover letters as well as language learning since I use diverse pedagogies to deliver instruction with a holistic outlook. My teaching techniques are in sync with the motivations of my students in terms of their learning objectives. I have a Master’s in English and a PhD in Education. I chose Education as a major for my PhD because I was interested in improving the quality of teaching and learning. The most important thing in teaching students to learn English, or for that matter any subject, is to establish a relationship of trust and respect. It is imperative to understand the culture they are coming from to do that. Not looking down, but looking across helps me to do that. My Masters and PhD disciplines have helped me hone my teaching to challenge students by providing opportunities to think and believe in themselves. I have a ‘can do spirit’ and I imbibe the same in my students. Building resilience and self-belief are necessary for this.
