My lessons start with a review of previous work, essential for good retrieval. This could be going over homework set the previous lesson or a mini quiz of language previously covered.
I like to introduce a grammatical point as well as vocabulary. Grammar should be introduced in context. I use drill exercises, written and spoken , on line games. I like to cover all 4 skills, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, but this of course is very much depending on the student's needs.
I am flexible and believe that a variety of activities and engagement of the student are key for enjoyment of learning as well as retention.
The lessons end with a recap, again in a variety of format to ensure maximum learning.
