I was fortunate to be lectured and tutored by Mr. Thomas for several classes throughout my undergraduate journey. His professionalism, contagious zeal, and passion for every subject he teaches are truly admirable. Beyond academics, he genuinely cares about his students’ well-being. At the start of each class, he would check in with us, encouraging honest responses about how we were feeling beyond the usual “good” or “fine.” Assignments were always given in advance, with clear instructions and thorough explanations of what was expected. His feedback was constructive and detailed, which helped us improve continuously. Mr. Thomas is a dedicated, inspiring, and supportive lecturer and tutor. Fabian’s approach to our classes was very intentional and insightful. He helped to change my outlook on literature as well as my perspective on creative writing. I took some of what I learned and on number of occasions was helping to tutor creative writing in inner city communities. Fabian taught me "Bob Marley and his Music" at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus in Jamaica and it immediately became my favourite course after the first lecture. Fabian's classes were always organised, interactive and engaging - never boring. He also put extra effort into the course by planning trips to the Bob Marley museum and Tuff Gong studios so that we could learn more by being in the physical spaces that Bob Marley lived and worked and by hearing more stories about his life and music from other sources. He even brought music industry experts in for an interactive panel discussion. It was truly an amazing course. Assessments were also reasonable and were fairly graded. Fabian made himself available for questions and meetings through office hours and was always responsive via email. He also fostered a positive environment, treated everyone with respect, and encouraged creativity. I would take another course of his in a heartbeat.

Rating 5. I love Fabian’s style of engagement, he was able to meet my son on his own level. There was no rush during the sessions. Additionally, I loved that there was a level of care in wanting my son to improve. Even if I forgot the appointment, he did his follow ups and due diligence.

Mr. Thomas was an excelent teacher, friend and role model during my time with him, he always encouraged me to do my best in all that i do, whether it be tasks, assignments and even building myself as a induvidual; he does his best to assist me in whatever matter is at hand.
