Hello! I'm a History tutor specialising in GCSE and A-level, helping students build confidence, sharpen their writing and achieve the grades they're aiming for.

History isn't about memorising dates. It's about understanding why events happened and arguing a point clearly. My lessons focus on exactly that. Each session is tailored to your exam board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and to your child's strengths and gaps, so no time is wasted.

What lessons look like:

• A quick recap of the previous topic, then a clear, engaging explanation of new content
• Structured essay practice, using methods such as PEEL and source analysis so students know exactly how to earn top marks
• Exam technique: timing, command words, and how to approach and 16-mark questions
• Revision strategies like timelines, flashcards and active recall that actually make knowledge stick
• Detailed written feedback on practice essays after every lesson

At A-level, I also help with historiography, interpretations questions and the independent coursework (NEA), guiding students to develop their own argument and research confidently.

My approach is friendly, patient and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, so I create a relaxed space where mistakes are part of the process. I'm happy to work with students who are struggling, as well as those aiming for the very top grades.
