I like to use slide decks to demonstrate how to do questions. This gives me the opportunity to cover the topic in detail, show multiple methods, and make sure the student fully understands the content. This is why I start with an explanation of definitions and theory. Then I do a demonstration of how to do the questions to help them learn exam technique. This is followed by them practicing some similar questions to help them remember, consolidate, and practice the theory and exam technique we covered in class.

Studies also show it is important that you go back and review content quickly within the next few sessions in an attempt to maximise the amount of knowledge a student can remember. The method I have found to be best for this is reviewing the content once a week for a month or two (depending on the difficulty of the content) and then only once a month after that.

While this is the method I typically use I understand that every student is different and therefore learns differently. My lessons are made specifically for each student and their strengths and weaknesses. This allows them to learn the greatest amount of content in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of energy.

I mainly teach Edexcel GCSE maths but I can also do other exam boards and can do GCSE combined sciences (specifically Biology and Chemistry however I can do Physics as well.)
