Online Biology Teacher

Good day, I’m Koluamawei Esther Zimoghen, a Biology teacher with a B.Agric degree in Animal Science from Niger Delta University. I teach because I believe biology is the story of life, and every student can understand it with the right approach.

Skills I bring to online teaching:
I’m skilled in Zoom, Google Classroom, Jamboard, Canva, Kahoot, and Quizizz for interactive lessons. My background in research and data analysis from NYSC helps me teach students how to think like scientists - collecting data, analyzing results, and drawing conclusions. I’m also strong in organization, clear written communication, and creating simple digital notes and infographics students can revise easily.

My teaching methods:
I use 4 student-centered methods for virtual classes:

1. Visual + Inquiry Learning: I use diagrams, animations, and 3D models, then ask “why” questions so students discover concepts instead of memorizing.

2. Flipped Classroom: Students review short notes or videos before class. Live time is for experiments, problem-solving, and Q&A.

3. Real-Life Connections: I link topics to daily life. Genetics explains family traits. Ecology explains issues in the Niger Delta. Physiology explains how our bodies respond to stress or illness.

4. Active Recall + Games: We use Kahoot quizzes and “draw the process” activities. Biology is visual, so we practice more than we read.
