Esme Greatorex

I am a fun and engaging tutor with experiene teaching both adults and children. I can adapt my lessons to suilt all abilities, ages, and learning styles. I like to use a range of teaching styles, mainly focusing on activity based lessons rather than lectures. This includes games, vocabulary exercises and, of course, speaking practise.
My enthusiasm for linguistics led me to pursue a French and Spanish degree at the University of Exeter, which I graduated from this year with a high 2:1. During my placement year of University, I developed my teaching skills through an English tutor position at the French school L'École Saint Jeanne d'Arc. This role gave me valuable experience in independently planning and delivering lessons, creating materials, marking students' work, and providing individual support. During this time, I grew my passion for teaching and for helping students discover the enjoyment and opportunities that come with learning a new language. In my final year at university, I also achieved a First in the TESOL Level 3 course. This qualification further strengthened my knowledge of effective teaching methodologies.
Overall, I endeavour to make enjoyable lessons to support individual learner needs and to build linguistic confidence.
