I offer supportive, structured French tuition tailored to the Scottish curriculum, including National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. I hold a First Class Honours degree in French and Spanish and I am currently completing my teaching qualification, giving me up-to-date knowledge of both subject content and effective teaching methods.
My lessons are fully personalised to each learner’s goals, whether that is improving exam performance, building confidence in speaking, strengthening grammar knowledge or developing overall language skills. I begin by identifying strengths, areas for development and learning preferences, then create engaging lessons designed to support steady progress.
Lessons typically include a mix of speaking, listening, reading and writing to develop well-rounded language ability. I use a variety of resources such as past paper practice, targeted grammar exercises, vocabulary building activities and interactive tasks to keep lessons engaging and effective. I place strong emphasis on exam technique for SQA qualifications, helping students understand marking schemes and how to maximise marks.
I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Building confidence is a key focus of my teaching, as this often leads to improved attainment and greater enjoyment of the subject.
Through my degree and teaching training, I have developed strong communication skills and an understanding of how to explain complex language concepts clearly. I am passionate about helping students achieve their potential while making language learning enjoyable and rewarding. I look forward to working with students and supporting them to achieve confidence and success.
