I have experience tutoring A-level Students in English Language and Literature but can also engage with a different age demographic. Lessons would be interactive and would include small spoken assessments that would help me determine the level we are working at. Students would have the opportunity to express any of their concerns and will receive extra materials if needed (eg. academic journals, articles, useful websites etc.)
Students I have tutored in the past have shown signs of improvement within 2 tutoring sessions and with my help they were able to improve the feedback received from their class teachers. They have found our tutoring sessions engaging and were always excited to learn and explore new ideas, as well as dive deep into territories they did not fully understand prior to the sessions. Students received a number of extra support materials, and completed small assessments for which they received live feedback on.
I intend to conduct student led sessions where everyone can feel comfortable in expressing their needs and concerns and their input into what they think might work best for their learning. Sessions will focus on the topics that students struggle with most and they will be supported throughout the entire process. Young children and adults alike will both benefit from the upmost care and involvement on my part. The tutoring sessions will act as a safe space in which everyone can receive help with the areas they most need support. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience and I aim to provide that for all students.
