I have 4 years of experience as a researcher in the field of biology. During this time, I demonstrated in practical sessions, helping students relate their findings back to their lectures. Furthermore, I supervised and tutored students. During these one-on-one interactions, I was able to recognise and understand the individual needs of each student, tailoring lessons to support their learning.
In terms of content delivery, I believe an effective approach includes different modes of learning. Therefore, I make sure my slides are visual, including simple diagrams to describe complex processes. I ensure classes are conversational; I ask questions and test the knowledge of the student during the class in order to maintain engagement.
In my lessons, I aim to create a supportive, motivating atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring concepts in depth. A typical session might begin with a brief recap of previous material, followed by a structured explanation of new content, supported by visual aids and real-world examples. I also like to incorporate short problem-solving activities or discussions that reinforce key ideas and encourage critical thinking. By the end of each lesson, I provide a short summary and check understanding, ensuring students leave feeling more confident. My overall goal is to help learners build strong foundations while developing independence and curiosity in the subject.
I also remain flexible in my teaching style, adjusting the pace and level of detail depending on the student’s progress. This ensures every learner feels supported and continuously challenged at an appropriate level.
