I’m an experienced and dedicated primary educator with a strong background in teaching across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, both in the UK and internationally. Throughout my career, I’ve taught in a variety of schools – from large academies to small village primaries – and have led subjects including English, Music, Art and MFL. I’ve also completed a PGCE and Master of Education at the University of Cambridge and specialist phonics training for several phonics schemes, giving me a deep understanding of how children learn best and how to support them to develop strong foundational literacy skills.
My teaching style is calm, nurturing and highly individualised. I firmly believe that learning should be enjoyable, purposeful and accessible for every child, so I take time to understand each pupil’s strengths, challenges and interests. I then tailor lessons to meet their needs - whether that means adapting materials, breaking learning into manageable steps, stretching higher-attaining pupils or supporting those with SEND through carefully planned strategies. I am experienced in working alongside specialists and external agencies, and I’m confident in designing personalised programmes to help children make rapid, meaningful progress.
Relationship-building is at the heart of my approach. I strive to create a safe, positive learning environment where children feel respected, motivated and excited to learn. I use consistent, proactive behaviour management and a reward-led approach to help pupils feel confident and in control of their learning. Parents often comment on my warm communication style, and I always ensure families feel informed, supported and involved.
I bring creativity, energy and organisation to every session - whether I’m teaching phonics, supporting early reading and writing, building maths confidence or helping children develop resilience and independent learning skills. My lessons are interactive and engaging, with clear explanations, targeted feedback and plenty of encouragement.
Most of all, I’m passionate about helping children see themselves as capable, successful learners. I love watching them grow in confidence, develop new skills and realise what they are truly capable of.
