From a young age I dreamed of becoming a teacher, though as a teenager I doubted whether I had the patience for it. Life has a way of bringing us back to what we’re meant to do. Twenty years later, I travelled to India to complete a TEFL International course and began teaching as a volunteer. I worked with street children and students in a charity-run school, an experience that opened my eyes to the transformative power of education and strengthened my commitment to teaching.

My journey then took me to Indonesia, where I taught both children and adults across two schools. Living and working in a completely different culture taught me adaptability, creativity, and the importance of meeting students exactly where they are.

After two years abroad, I returned to Oxford and successfully gained my Trinity College London TESOL certificate. I went on to teach in two Oxford schools, specialising in general and business English, IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation, and International Baccalaureate English for adults and sixth-form students. Alongside this, I have continued to tutor privately, supporting learners with a wide range of goals, backgrounds, and levels.

Teaching brings me genuine joy. Watching students grow in confidence, develop new skills, and realise their potential is incredibly rewarding. Over the years, many of my learners have gone on to university and high-level professional roles after achieving excellent IELTS scores — and it’s a privilege to have played a part in their journey. I can help you do the same.
