As a designer, lecturer and workshop leader, I’m driven by curiosity and by helping students explore, experiment and make things happen. My lessons are highly interactive and hands-on, centred on creative, purposeful play. We learn by doing, testing ideas, taking risks and discovering unexpected outcomes together.
Play is not a break from learning – it’s where your best ideas emerge. Through practical activities, discussions, critiques and collaborative challenges, you’ll develop confident problem-solving skills, learn how to communicate your ideas clearly, and become a thoughtful, effective collaborator. Peer review is a key part of this process: you’ll regularly share work, give and receive constructive feedback, and learn from each other’s perspectives.
I will always encourage you to think for yourself and to question everything – from briefs and assumptions to references, rules and outcomes. I believe your most valuable creative asset is the way you think. My teaching approach supports you in finding your own voice and expressing it through both visual and verbal skills, rather than searching for a single “right” answer.
When it’s done well, Graphic Design has the power to educate, entertain, influence behaviour and drive real change. My aim is to help you develop the confidence, curiosity and critical thinking needed to create meaningful, impactful design work.
