Emily Jane Ashford

In my classes we will focus on technique and acting through song. These, I believe, are the most important things when approaching any song. Whether you are learning something to sing in an audition or live on stage we will work together to build confidence and make it the best it can be.

I will also support my students in building their rep folders so that they have a range of material for any audition situation. We will look at what songs show them off in the best ways and what their key strengths are in singing.

Lastly, one of the key areas I wish I had learned earlier is vocal health and maintenance. Part of my classes will be dedicated to warm ups and cool downs and how to look after the voice correctly to avoid any vocal damage. There is so much misinformation surrounding what to do and what not to do and I can draw on my personal experiences as a professional singer to guide on the most efficient path.
