My lessons are designed to be friendly, encouraging and person centred, tailored to each student’s individual needs, interests and learning style.
I believe that building confidence and developing a genuine enjoyment of English go hand in hand with academic progress.
I believe everyone can find a book that they connect to and can enjoy. Opening up a wider world of enjoyment in reading.
I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
Depending on the student’s needs, lessons may include reading comprehension, exam prep, grammar, vocabulary, essay planning, literary analysis and creative writing.
My approach is patient, interactive and encouraging, with a balance of structured learning and opportunities for creativity.
Above all, I hope students leave each lesson feeling a little more confident, capable and enthusiastic about English. If I can pass on a bit of my own passion for the subject I see that as a success.
A good grounding in English, both literature and language, can really set you up for future success and opportunities. It builds analytical, creative and critical thinking abilities, which are as vital as ever in today’s world.
Books can be a fantastic gateway to expanding horizons, building empathy and becoming exposed to different ideas, and ways of thinking. As well as some good old fashioned escapism, into all kinds of fabulous worlds.
