Emily Boucher

My name is Emily, I have a deep passion for science, and am excited to try to help guide students through their studies and hopefully help them learn to love it too! I am currently completing a masters in Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham, and have key experience in A-Level Biology and Psychology, achieving A grades in both subjects. I can also tutor GCSE science, mainly specialising in biology and chemistry.

My lessons will focus on one topic each week, running through the content at whatever pace your child needs, followed by consolidation of the topic with past paper questions or a short quiz to prepare for exams. Over time working with your child, I will tailor lessons to suit their specific learning style, whether that be drawing out mind maps to suit a visual learner, or making mnemonics to help remember complex processes. Every child is unique and I believe that our lessons together should reflect that.

Every week I will make a powerpoint presentation on a topic of your choosing, which I can run through over teams or in person depending on location as I am based in Nottingham most of the year. Closer to exam periods, whether that be mocks or end of year assesments, I can do specific sessions on exam technique where we will take apart the mark scheme and focus on how to answer different question types to put the knowledge we have learned to good use.
