Emi Wheatley

I was born and raised in Japan, and I’ve been living in the UK for over six years. I’ve been teaching Japanese both online and face-to-face for over three years, mainly to beginner and intermediate learners.

I teach in both Japanese and English, and I have a neutral Japanese accent.

I’m here to support you every step of the way in a warm and relaxed learning environment. I help adult beginners and intermediate learners speak natural, practical Japanese with confidence.

If you're looking to take the JLPT, I have experience teaching students from N5 to N3.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals, and individual needs. Whether you want to learn Japanese for travelling, everyday conversation, or living in Japan, I’ll do my best to make each lesson useful and enjoyable.

I have a background in administration and hospitality in Japan. I also worked as a sushi chef in the UK, so I’m pretty good at making sushi! ?? I love Japanese food and visiting onsen (hot springs) too.

As a non-native English speaker, I understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language. That’s why I’m very patient, and my lessons are relaxed, friendly, and informal.
