My lessons are built around the student rather than a fixed formula. Before our first session I ask about your goals, your current level, and what specifically isn't clicking; whether that's essay structure, understanding a concept, or exam technique, so that every session is targeted rather than generic.

For Politics and Social Sciences, I focus heavily on building analytical frameworks that students can apply independently. Rather than memorising facts, I help students understand how to construct an argument, evaluate sources, and engage critically with political theory and current events. These are skills that transfer across topics and exams rather than being tied to one specific question.

For English Literature and History, I emphasise close reading, essay planning, and the ability to write under timed conditions. Many students know their material but struggle to translate that knowledge into a well-structured essay, and this is usually where I focus most of my energy.

My sessions typically run 60 minutes and combine explanation, worked examples, and student practice with feedback. I adapt the pace entirely to the individual, as some students need more conceptual grounding, while others need exam practice and technique, and most need a combination of both.

I completed my own degree with a First Class Honours, which means I have recent, direct experience of what high-level academic work looks like and how to get there. I also have professional experience in political journalism and policy writing, which gives me a practical sense of how analytical and communication skills work beyond the classroom.

Sessions are conducted online via video call with shared documents where needed.
