About Me:
Hi, I'm Eman, a current A Level student studying Maths, Further Maths, and Computer Science. I achieved Grade 9s in GCSE Maths and Further Maths along with an 8 in GCSE Computer Science and I'm predicted A*s across all three subjects at A Level.
I have experience in tutoring for a few months, working one to one with students to build up their understanding and confidence over time. For computer science, I have experience in Python, C#, SQL and Scratch. Having sat my own GCSEs recently, I know exactly where students tend to get stuck and what actually makes a difference when it comes to exam technique.
I decided to start tutoring because I know first hand how much of a difference the right support can make. Having a tutor who explains things clearly and patiently helped me get to where I am now and I wanted to offer that same support to other students.
During school, I noticed that with large class sizes, teachers often can't give every student the one to one attention they need to fully understand a topic and I saw how much that gap affected students who just needed things explained a bit differently or at their own pace. That's what motivated me to start tutoring: to give students the individual support and clear explanations that aren't always possible in a classroom setting.
Because I've recently studied these subjects myself, I understand exactly where students tend to get stuck and how to explain concepts in a way that actually makes sense.
I work with primary, KS3 and GCSE students, adjusting my approach depending on whether the focus is building strong foundations or preparing for exams. My aim is to help you not just improve your grades but build real confidence in maths and computing.
About the lesson:
For a general lesson, I like to explain the concepts and then finish with practice questions to build confidence. I will also check understanding with students regularly such as going through challenging questions from previous topics learnt rather than rushing ahead and not reviewing anything. I believe that spaced repetition is essential in learning.
Depending on what you need, I can focus more on exam preparation like working through past papers and exam technique for exam focused students or on building a solid grasp of core concepts from the ground up. Many students benefit from a mix of both and I'm happy to adjust the balance based on your goals. For primary or KS3 students, my teaching approach is more focused on understanding where building strong foundations early makes a real difference later on.
Lessons typically run for 1 hour, though this can be adjusted depending on the topic or your preference.
I have a few months of tutoring experience and I have helped students build both skills and confidence in these subjects. My lessons are suited to primary and secondary school students whether you are just getting started with a topic or working towards top grades at GCSE.
